A cold day in Madison

Damn that looks cold!

Are we sure it's not 2012 yet?  How about spring at least?

So my Twitter account was all abuzz about Sarah Palin and Andrew Breitbart showing up in Madison to speak to the local Tea Partiers up there. The Right Scoop and Gateway Pundit both have full write-ups on the speech, and I have to say the Tweets from those watching the live feeds were a hoot.  That said what does it all mean?

It means it was a cold day in Madison!

Who would have thought 5 years ago that you could have even had a slightly right of center group hold a rally in Madison?  Say what you will but Wisconsin has never struck me as a right wing strong hold.  Heck before Obama came around when was the last time you saw right of center folks protest at ALL?!  Right to lifers at an abortion clinic here and there but on a national stage the protest scene was almost completely left sided.

Hat Tip: Gateway Pundit
Fast forward to today and we have a former governor and a leader of New Media news talking to thousands (at least one crowd estimates are always played with) of right of center protestors.  I never would have imagined this!  Let alone rallying in Madison because of an epic fight with Unions of all things, Unions are sacrosanct in politics!  Who would have thought five years ago that we'd be here?

It is a chill wind in Madison for the Democrats and their Union allies that a rally of any respectable size can show up.  Let alone one big enough or with people of enough "fame" to warrant them performing any kind of counter rally.

No matter what you think of Breitbart or Palin you can't help but marvel at the fact that folks came out on a cold day in Madison to have a right of center rally.  That would never have happened five years ago, heck it might not have happened two years ago!  The winds of change are blowing everywhere and I can only hope things will be better because of it.
