McDonald's Beat Down

Okay I could have sworn I posted this here but I must have just commented on Facebook.  So for those who haven't seen it, here's the horrible video of woman getting beat up by two other's while everyone just watches (and films) the entire thing!

So I'm looking at my twitter feed and 1 hour ago McDonald's tweets:

Action has been taken, and the crew member who made the video is no longer employed by this organization.

Which I must have missed in my initial comments on the video.  I never realized the camera guy WORKED there!  So I went back a bit more in the Twitter feed for McDonalds and at least yesterday they did acknowledge the video exsisted.  They were "Shocked" by the video and found it "unacceptable, disturbing, and troubling." 
 
All well and good.  In fact they are also looking to see who else at that McDonalds will recieve "appropriate action" "as warranted." 
 
So far so good.  But Twitter didn't have any links to official statements or updates so I went to The Dudge Report to dig up some more info for ya. 
 
So the first article I see after the video above is a link to the story of the idiot employee claiming credit for filming it! 

Oh this guy going to get in so much trouble!

In fact, he justified the whole event in his Facebook page!  As reported by The Smoking Gun he posted several times about the fight.  Saying that it was a woman getting beat up but a guy dressed as a woman.  Police records and the civil right's group Equality Maryland confirm that the victim was a transgendered woman.  Here's what happened in the cameraman's words:
 
 

Now I'm not the purist, least hateful guy in the world, but I don't think it matters WHAT is being beat on like that, you don't just stand back and record it! Let alone try and help out the attackers by telling them to run before the cops show up.  So I for one am glad this guy is now unemployed, though I don't look forward to having to pay for yet another person on the unemployment rolls. 

Speaking of attackers, what do we know of them?  Well one is 14, the other is 18. The Baltimore Sun reports:

County police confirmed that the attack occurred April 18 in the 6300 block of Kenwood Ave. Police said the 14-year-old girl has been charged as a juvenile, while charges were pending against an 18-year-old woman.

The Mail online (A UK publication) reports the police are thinking of charging the attackers with a Hate Crime.  Why?  Well two people beat the crap out of a transgender or a cross dresser depending on the definition (I'm not sure who rules on these things) sounds like a hate crime on paper.   I was unable to find any more updates on charges or what not as I post this.  More to come probably on Monday.
